Perdue claims Sonny
Perdue is Bought and Paid For!
During the 2002 Campaign Sonny Perdue claimed that his
opponent was the candidate of the "fat cats." He claimed that Roy Barnes was getting the big check contributions and Sonny was the
candidate of the average person.

80% of Barnes Contributions From $5,000 Donors;
Average Contribution of $1,600 Shows He's the Candidate of the Fat
Cat, Not the Average Georgian
ATLANTA, GA -
Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Sonny Perdue's campaign today
asked which Georgians Governor Roy Barnes really represents in light
of news reports today that the average contribution to his campaign
was a whopping $1,600.00 and that 80% of his campaign cash came in
the form of $5,000.00 checks.
"The average Georgian can't sit down and write a
$5,000.00 check to a political campaign," said Perdue Campaign
Manager Scott Rials. "It makes you wonder about two things: which
Georgians does Barnes really represent and what are these fat cats
getting for their money?"
An article in today's Atlanta
Journal-Constitution described the process by which Barnes
became the biggest beneficiary of a law increasing political
contribution limits in Georgia - a law he pushed through the General
Assembly.
The article also revealed that 24% of Barnes
contributions came from outside of Georgia including $10,000 from a
software company in New Orleans which will have received more than
$8 million in state contracts from the Barnes Administration by the
end of this year.
"Roy Barnes has been bought and paid for by big
business interests, lobbyists and holders of state contracts," Rials
said. "These are smart businessmen, they don't just throw away
thousands of dollars. They expect something in return and Roy Barnes
has obviously told them - with a wink and a nod maybe - that they'll
get it."

Well take a look at what happened, just AFTER the 2002
election. From then until December 31 (less than 60 days) Sonny seems to
have undergone some kind of transformation.
